Retinal Imaging

Santee Family Optometry has retinal imaging available to our patients. A retinal camera takes a quick and painless picture of your retina, the part of the eye responsible for allowing you to see. This is a highly advanced and terrific way to determine the health of your eyes and can also help to identify disease like diabetes, glaucoma, and many more conditions that may affect the the health of your eyes. After taking these pictures, Dr. Gendelman will review them with you and help you understand the importance of this evaluation and the health of your eyes. Our cutting-edge camera DOES NOT require a dilation majority of the time, however, this test does not replace dilation and Dr. Gendelman may still want to dilate your eyes if necessary.
